In May, I had the pleasure and honour of recording two singles with the Tenores di Orosei Antoni Milia, Su Ballu Turturinu and Su Ninnu de Pasca e Natale, which you can listen to on Spotify.
The two tracks consolidate the collaboration with this fantastic “a tenore” singing group, which began in 2019 during the 377 project and extended to my group Arkos Trio. Last year, we made a video together in the church of Santa Maria ‘e Mare in Orosei.
“Canto a tenore” is a traditional polyphonic folk singing style from Sardinia, Italy. It is characterised by four male singers standing in a close circle, each with a distinct role, creating a unique harmony. The singing style is deeply rooted in Sardinian pastoral culture and is considered an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO since 2008.
